Drool by the Pool

April 26, 2014

He was used to things inconsequential, of things mundane and uneventful. He had been cleaning pools for several years in this middle class neighborhood, most often for middle-aged ladies. He had never seen anything like her before. So, when he was presented with this curvy, sun-kissed, golden goddess, he was in awe. His chin couldn’t help but to drop at the pulchritudinous sight displayed before him. She seemed to erupt from the sun. She was bronzed all over, and her head and shoulders were cascaded by a wild mane of loose, honey-hued curls. His mouth remained agog as she sat down in the beach chair beside the pool. He couldn’t concentrate on skimming leaves from the water with this gorgeous woman in his sight. He couldn’t help himself. He asked her, in earnest, “Has anyone ever told you you’re beautiful?” Indeed, many had before, but her modesty allowed her to merely blush, as she still does to this day.
