The Other Man

December 3, 2013

Words go unspoken,

‘Cause you’re spoken for.

Sometimes I wish

I could knock on your door.

But he would object.

It’s his right to do so.

If only I’d felt

This way long ago.

Now there’s no point.

You’re deeply involved.

My problem with that

Can never be solved.

All I can do

Is suppress my own tongue.

My song of desire

Can never be sung.
